About us

The working group aims at fostering consensus on what private sector data is critical to better govern a health system, encouraging health ministries and development partners to invest in the systems and capacity to collect and use this data for better governance.

The working group brings together development partner agencies, experts, and country level stakeholders (both from the public and private sector) who are committed to the aim and objectives of this working group and have technical expertise to move this agenda forward.

What we do

As a starting point, the working group will focus on the following objectives, that can be adapted over time as the work of the working group evolves:

  1. To identify the data that is available in the private sector that could be used for health governance
  2. To understand how private sector data can be used for better governance, both in theory and practice.
  3. To support the development of practical approaches to data, focusing on what private sector data is critical, for what use, as well as how to use it.
